Just Relax!

I woke up this morning thinking about my agenda. Feed and dress the kids. Do my homework. Finish schoolwork that is required by Monday: make a visual schedule, rewrite the paraprofessionals' schedules (for the 1,000th time), write lesson plans, schedule meetings. My supervisors tell me to relax, don't get stressed out. You need to be calm during your pregnancy. Then they proceed to give me a list of things to do. I find myself waking up throughout the night trying to finish my school tasks. How do you find time to balance school (professional) and home (personal)? Help!

  1. Although it often seems impossible, I do my very best to find 45 minutes to 1 hour to walk daily. I admit I just can't manage to get my walk in everyday. BUT I can tell you this, it definitely helps when I do it several days in a row. And THAT makes me try harder to keep it up.
Brains need a break, and walking provides the break. If you can find a place to just walk -- a gym, or athletic field or track, or a park or whatever, it will do a world of good.

  2. Carmin, I so agree with you. Sometimes we overload ourselves and need to take a mental, physical, and emotional break. Rob bye, don't be down there stressing little Burton. Have a great day.

  3. Music is my first line of defense, followed by prayer. Life itself is full of stress and we have to find ways of letting go of it! I am blessed with a loving family, wonderful friends, and great co-workers that I can confide in when needed.

Exercise helps too! We all need 'me time', to just have a quiet moment alone with our thoughts and self.
