This article, by Kathy Schrock, provides 26 criteria for students and teachers to use to determine accuracy when gathering information from websites. This reminds me of a time when I was assisting a child with research. We reviewed information from various sites, including Wikipedia. Sometimes the information was aligned with the other sites, sometimes it was not. Also students should have some knowledge of the topic that they are researching. This will aid them in comparing the newly gathered information to what they already know about the topic.
